How to Get Zimbabwe Driving License?

An International driving License Permit is highly recommended when travelling for the other countries.

According to the rules of convention road traffic Act of 1968 the International driving permit must be used in conjunction with your Zimbabwean driving license and when requested by law enforcement officer both the local and the International driving permit should be presented. The International driving license is valid for 3 years and is useful when hiring a vehicle or if you should be involved in an accident case some foreign countries may dispute with your local driving license.

Applying for International driving permit from the post office is as follows.

You must send the full photocopies of all the originals of the documents and your driving license and provisional license pass certificate of your education.

Copy your photo card license both the sides of the card as well as the paper counterpart and the photo card must be valid then check the expiry date shown on the front of the card.

Send a photo copy of your previous practical pass certificate which is valid for two years from the date of your test is conducted and a copy of provisional license certificate also.

A recent passport size 2” x 2” colored photograph with full face without helmet on photographic paper signed by applicant on the back of the photos and then see the photograph checklist on the application forms. Then submit the passport photocopy showing the photograph and the identification in details.

If you need two types of permit please include two photographs as well as pay the fee for two permits each permit fee is required £8.50 with your application no more than one permit of each type can be issued to an applicant.

Enclose a self-addressed envelope C 5 size 162 mm x 229 mm is preferred without affixing stamp. Enclose with the original signed application forms which is signed by the license holder emailed or faxed photocopied are not accepted.

Postal application processing fee is required postal orders and Cheque should be made payable to automobile associations. Credit card charge card and debit card are not accepted for this purpose.

Check that you have signed and completed the application form completely attached the supporting documentary evidence and enclosed the correct payment. NOTE: Application form is incomplete then it will be return back to you and the plastic holder for the International driving permit is available at an additional cost.
